“It helps knowing that there are people out there who can help me. That feels good.”
– Joseph
Joseph worked for decades at Cheltenham High School as a custodian. Then briefly, at the Phillies’ stadium. After a heart attack and subsequent strokes, he is unable to work, homebound, and only gets only $400 a month
in retirement.
Thanks to Caring for Friends, Joseph is now secure in knowing that he will get seven nutritious meals a week.
Joseph has built a friendship with his volunteer visitor, Jeff, over the past several years and values their relationship. “Jeff keeps me on the straight and narrow.”
When asked what it is like getting help from Caring for Friends, Joseph said, “[they] are very reliable, helpful, and considerate – especially for people who can’t get around very well.”
In just an hour a week, you can help homebound friends like Joseph.
