Summer Sandwich Program
For many of our neighbors, summer can be just as difficult as stark winters. While school is out, thousands of children lose access to reliable meals. Families, homebound seniors, and individuals who experience homelessness face an even greater food insecurity. This summer, you can help change that in the Sandwich Program or donations that help our volunteers make sandwiches.

How Can You Help?
Food and funds are down and every little bit of donations helps provide food and friendship to homebound, homeless, and hungry friends in our area. There are many ways to provide impact for our neighbors.
- Feed our waiting list of 760 homebound seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities
- We still need 2,500 snack bags for people facing homelessness on the streets and in shelters
- Consider a modest monthly donation
Caring for Friends has a variety of volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups of all sizes and ages. Help prepare meals in our kitchen, pack boxes in our dry line, or help us in the office or warehouse.

We are always in need of frozen protein, fresh produce, and canned items/non-perishable foods.
Most Needed Items
Groups can prepare these bags as part of a volunteer event in our location or theirs. Volunteers who help assemble snack bags with nutritious breakfast and protein snacks for our homebound seniors, people living on the streets or in shelters, and children and their families in need.
