Caring for Friends™ remains committed to providing its continuity of services to our consumers during the global COVID-19 pandemic. For those who benefit from Caring for Friends’ meal distribution, we will continue to provide meals to thousands of older community members across the five counties of Greater Philadelphia. It is vital for homebound and medically compromised adults to stay nourished at this time.
We ask all of our volunteer visitors to adhere to CDC COVID-19 guidelines and to adopt “contact free” drop-off of meals at your seniors friends’ door. We want to keep helping people with minimal contact. We also encourage phone calls, to check in on our senior client friends. Meal preparation continues and we welcome donations of food. However, we are aligning with local, state and federal guidelines to stop group cooking events and prefer “contact free” meal drop off.
We continue to monitor this situation closely and will provide ongoing updates as needed.
Caring for Friends™, formerly known as Aid for Friends, welcomes your involvement and offers a variety of ways for you to support our mission. Whether you want to deliver meals, be a companion to an elderly person, cook meals for the homebound, or explore a corporate volunteer opportunity, we can always use assistance.
Even if you have just a few hours available, Caring for Friends can use your help. We are always in need of drivers to help with senior meal delivery, as well as volunteers to make regular phone calls to the homebound.
