Summer Sandwich Program
Summer Sandwich Program
For many of our neighbors, summer can be just as difficult as winter. While school is out, thousands of children lose access to reliable meals, leaving families, homebound seniors, and individuals experiencing homelessness facing even greater food insecurity. This summer, you can help change that through sandwich making or donations.
Help Caring for Friends provide fresh, homemade sandwiches to those who need them most. Whether you volunteer with your company, church, school, community group, or individually, every sandwich made helps feed a neighbor in need.
Volunteer and Donation Opportunities
- Caring for Friends Kitchen: Bring a team to Caring for Friends and “Rita’s Kitchen” to work alongside Chef Larry
- Your School or Business: Host a sandwich-making event at your organization or school
This experience not only helps feed those in need, but also encourages team-building, community engagement, and a culture of giving back within your organization.
How It Works
Team Participation
Gather a group of 8–10 team members for a fun and meaningful 90-minute sandwich-making experience. Larger groups can easily be accommodated with additional sandwich goals.
Flexible Locations
Host your sandwich-making event at your office, school, church, or community space — or join us at Caring for Friends own kitchen.
Corporate/School Sponsorships and Donations
If you can’t make it but still want to help sponsor our summer sandwich making, sponsorships of $500 or more help provide supplies and ingredients for approximately 500 to 1,000 sandwiches. https://secure.qgiv.com/for/summersandwichprogram/
Join us in serving our neighbors, one sandwich at a time.
