Volunteer as a company
From UPS to Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Caring for Friends™, formerly known as Aid for Friends, has partnered with many Philadelphia-area companies. If your company is looking for a way to build stronger teams within while giving back to the community, look no further than Caring for Friends.
Here are some of the ways your company can work with Caring for Friends:
Cooking—Gather your staff or employees at your facility or our commercial kitchen to prepare meals for the elderly, homebound, disabled, or isolated individuals served by Caring for Friends. Learn more about contributing to our cooking program.
Food drive—Collect nonperishable food that can be used for cooking meals or for our Breakfast Bags or Caring Boxes. We can also use items your company collects during your food drive for our community food distribution efforts.
Breakfast Bags— Members of your company can work as a team to assemble Breakfast Bags, which consist of nonperishable, healthy food for our regular client friends and other individuals to ensure they have a hearty start to each day. Some groups have made this event even more fun with a little competition between teams and departments to see who can assemble their Breakfast Bags more quickly. Learn more about assembling Breakfast Bags.
Sponsor a freezer—Caring for Friends stores meals for our client friends in freezers throughout the Philadelphia area. Your group can make a meaningful difference and sponsor a freezer for $1,000.
Sponsor a vehicle—We regularly transport food and supplies between our warehouse in northeast Philadelphia and various sites throughout the area, including food pantries and shelters. Your group can sponsor a vehicle to help facilitate this process.
In-kind support—Caring for Friends is always looking for in-kind support to help fund our activities from companies.
United Way Campaign—If your company gives to the United Way, you can designate Caring for Friends to receive the funds through their Donor Choice Program. Simply use code 641.
